Translation settings: mode and models

How to translate a book in AuthorCat · 2:38 · starts at this section, 2:23

Here you see how the translation of this book is set up: the direction, the automation mode, the model for each job and the block size.

  1. Open “Translation settings”. The “T1 · Step by step” mode stops at the glossary, the passport and the trial chapter; “T2 · Full automation” goes through the whole path on its own. To change the mode, use the mode button on the right of the “Translation path” bar.
  2. In the “AI models” block, each job has its own model: “Reading and glossary”, “Passport, guide and samples”, “Translation”, “Polish (critic)”, “Assistant”. Your choice is saved at once; an empty field means the default model. By default, the critic comes from a different model family than the translator.
  3. “Characters per block” is how much text goes to the model in one call: from 2,000 to 12,000, 5,000 by default. Paragraphs are not split; a new size applies to blocks not yet translated.
