Translation passport and guide

How to translate a book in AuthorCat · 2:38 · starts at this section, 0:54

The passport describes the book, the reader of the translation and what must not be lost. The guide holds the decisions for this book: the narrator’s voice, the characters’ speech, humour, cultural references, rhythm. The language norms are the general rules of the target language. Every chapter is translated according to these documents.

  1. Open “Passport and guide”. The machine builds the passport and guide after you approve the glossary.
  2. The documents are split into blocks in three parts: “Passport”, “Guide” and “Language norms”. Select a block — it opens for editing on the right and saves by itself.
  3. Rebuild block rewrites only that block; your edits in the others stay. Rebuild all… builds the documents again from scratch.
  4. When everything suits you, click Accept passport and guide — the machine translates the trial chapter.
